Palermo, heavy hand from the Sports Judge: huge fine and rain of…
News: The end of the second leg playoff semi-final against Catanzaro costs Palermo dearly. The Sports Judge in fact imposed a heavy fine of 20,000 euros on the Rosanero club for the behavior of the fans during and after the "Barbera" match. The statement reads that Palermo supporters threw numerous plastic bottles at opposing players intent on taking corner kicks, as well as a firecracker in the playing area and a smoke bomb on the pitch in the 51st minute of the second half. Further throwing of bottles towards the match officials at the end of the match, as they returned to the changing rooms, was also disputed. Measure also for Cristian Agnelli of Catanzaro, Aquilani's deputy, disqualified for having made insulting expressions to a Palermo coach at the end of the match, again in the tunnel leading to the changing rooms.
