News: As Tullio Filippone explains in Repubblica Palermo, tomorrow the renovated Magione pitch will be inaugurated, redeveloped thanks to the "Palermo in the Community" program promoted by Palermo FC and destined to become a point of reference for the young people of the neighbourhood. As Tullio Filippone highlights in Repubblica Palermo, the recovery of the Magione pitch comes after eleven years of waiting and was born with the aim of offering new educational opportunities to the children of Kalsa, an area that continues to deal with social problems and the phenomenon of school dropout. The contribution of the "Palermo in the Community" project is decisive, a social initiative through which the City Football Group promotes the redevelopment of urban spaces intended for sport. The model has already been successfully applied in numerous cities around the world through the creation of dozens of football fields dedicated to young people. As Tullio Filippone underlines again on Repubblica Palermo, part of the resources comes in fact from donations from Palermo supporters and from a portion of season tickets subscribed to the Renzo Barbera stadium, with two euros for each card allocated to the project.
