News: Controversy in Sicily after an article in the British newspaper The Telegraph dedicated to the upcoming wedding of the pop star Dua Lipa and the actor Callum Turner, who would have chosen Palermo and Bagheria to celebrate their wedding. The storm was triggered by the headline of the English newspaper, which defined Bagheria as "the former Sicilian mafia nest", or "the former hideout of the Sicilian mafia", also describing the historic Villa Valguarnera as an alleged "stronghold of Casa Nostra". An editorial choice that aroused indignation among Sicilian institutions and citizens, despite the subsequent modification of the title by the newspaper. And changing the title is not enough, we demand an apology from a people who not only fight the mafia and are defeating it, but who have paid enormous prices in terms of human lives. The article in the British newspaper traces the criminal past of Bagheria and the so-called "triangle of death", focusing on the events linked to Cosa Nostra before describing the tourist and cultural rebirth of the city.
