News: Italian Cup, Lecce-Palermo at the Renzo Barbera As we anticipated in recent days, Lecce-Palermo, the Italian Cup match of the 2026/27 season, should be played at the Renzo Barbera stadium. The information collected by our editorial staff, which was reflected in the official competition regulations for the three-year period 2024-27 and, in particular, in article 5 of the Official Press Release no. 253 of the League, which regulates cases related to the availability of facilities, confirm that the Lecce stadium will be unusable until next September. The Via del Mare, in fact, is currently affected by works which concern both the pitch, which is bringing it closer to the grandstand, and the entire roof of the stadium, interventions which make it impossible to use the Salento facility on the dates scheduled for the first round of the Italian Cup, i. e. around mid-August. For this reason we are only waiting for the official hypothesis of Barbera as the venue for the challenge. Important news for Palermo and for the Rosanero fans, who could experience a very attractive match at home to start the new season.
