Amata: «Sports facilities, no favoritism for Palermo regarding funds»
News: The regional councilor for Tourism, Sport and Entertainment Elvira Amata intervenes to respond to the controversy over the destination of regional resources for sports facilities and the financing allocated to the Renzo Barbera stadium. In a letter published by La Sicilia, the representative of the Schifani government rejects the accusations of favoritism towards Palermo and defends the strategy of the regional executive. Regarding the new notice dedicated to sports facilities, the councilor explains that the change in the administrative process was determined exclusively by technical-procedural reasons. Amata also recalls that the President of the Region Renato Schifani has already made a commitment to replenish, if necessary, the 40 million euros allocated to sports facilities, ensuring that no Sicilian municipality will be penalised. Finally, the councilor highlights how, according to the regional government, the resources originally foreseen would not have been spendable by the end of the year.
