After the decline of Andrea Pirlo's candidacy and the consensual farewell of Paolo Maldini and Leonardo, president Giovanni Malagò made official the choice of Roberto Mancini as the new technical commissioner of the national team. At his side will be Claudio Ranieri, appointed president of Club Italia. In the press conference, Malagò took responsibility for having stopped Pirlo's appointment for reasons of expediency, reiterating that the separation with Maldini and Leonardo occurred without controversy. A third managerial figure in charge of coordinating the national teams will also be announced within the week.
