News: Palermo-Lecce 2-0 An excellent performance was needed and it arrived for Palermo, who authoritatively beat Lecce 2-0 at the Barbera. The Rosanero started strong and broke the deadlock in the 14th minute: after a shot from Pohjanpalo was rejected by the defence, Vavassori was the quickest, pounced on the ball and reiterated it into the net. Di Francesco's team sketches a reaction, but without creating particular dangers. The second goal also arrived before the break: Pohjanpalo scored his first goal of the season in the 42nd minute with an assist from Johnsen. In the second half the Apulians tried to reopen the match by inserting Geubbels and Stulic, but Palermo, orderly and tenacious, resisted and gained passage to the round of 32, where they will face Mantova again within the friendly walls of Barbera.
