Palermo, born "Palermo Insieme": the first team paralimpica
Through a note on its official website, Palermo announces the birth of a team Paralimpica rosanero. Here is the statement: "For the first time in its history Palermo has a paralympic team and will participate in the championships of the Paralympic Football Division (DCP) of FIGC. It was born in fact "Palermo Insieme", thanks to athletes with various disabilities and operators specialized in rehabilitation through sport, all united in the sign of social inclusion and the removal of barriers. The initiative has been developed thanks to the collaboration between the Rosanero Club and the Athletic MA'MA ASD, a reality active for years in the field of psychiatric rehabilitation, with particular attention to the processes of recovery and acquisition of personal and relational skills. The sports project is conceived as an integral part of a wider rehabilitation path, in which football is an educational and social inclusion tool, consistent with contemporary models of psychiatric rehabilitation oriented to active participation and citizenship.
