News: Alberto Aquilani is ever closer to becoming the new coach of Sassuolo. After having come close to promotion to Serie A at the helm of Catanzaro, the coach now seems destined to leave Calabria to make the leap to the top Italian league. The neroverde club is in fact looking for Fabio Grosso's successor, destined to move to Fiorentina after the end of the season. The contacts between the parties would have come to a head and the feeling is that the negotiation could soon reach white smoke. For Aquilani it would be the first experience as a coach in Serie A after the paths gained between the Fiorentina Primavera, Pisa and Catanzaro, where in the last season he came close to a historic promotion to the top flight.
