B Series record: more goals, shots and show in the first
Serie B confirms a very balanced championship – from the sixth to the twentieth position separate just six points – but this season start also gives record numbers on the show front. In the first five days 132 goals were scored, with an average of 2.64 goals per game: the highest figure of the last five seasons, growing compared to 129 goals (2.58 of average) last year and far from the 111 goals (2.22) of 2023/2024. Behind the unexpected achievement there is a more offensive approach of the teams: the total shots rose to 1.383, equal to 27,66 conclusions per game, never so high in the five-year period, after the minimum of 24,8 touched in 2022/2023. It also increases the actual time of play, arrived at 57 minutes and 7 seconds per game: almost seven minutes more than the 50'49" of last season, sign of less interruptions and more football played. Chapter aside for Italian talents, protagonists of a real revival: 91 goals lead the signature of blue players, exceeding 90 of 2024/2025 and 76 of the previous year.
