Barbera renovation: the City Council approves the plan for the…

News: The Palermo City Council has unanimously approved an agenda for the redevelopment of the Renzo Barbera stadium, marking the first important step in the renovation project of the Viale del Fante facility, home of Palermo. The decision, taken in yesterday’s session, confirms the administration’s willingness to support the stadium modernization plan, with the aim of enhancing the city from both a sporting and infrastructural point of view. Below is the full note issued directly by the group leaders representing the City Council: “The Palermo City Council has unanimously approved an agenda relating to the redevelopment project of the “Renzo Barbera” stadium. With the document the chamber commits the mayor to represent, in the context of the services conference convened in the next few hours and in the subsequent institutional steps, the will of the Council to support every useful effort so that the project allows the city of Palermo to remain in line with the UEFA standards necessary to also be able to host the final stages of the main European football competitions. The agenda approved by the chamber therefore intends to reiterate the support of the City Council for a project considered strategic for the sporting and infrastructural future of the city”.
