Cremonese, victory in the Cup is not enough: Giampaolo

A home success was not enough to save Marco Giampaolo's bench. Despite the 2-0 victory over Parma which opened the doors to the round of 16 of the Italian Cup for Cremonese, the club has decided to terminate the relationship with the coach, who will be replaced by Fabio Pecchia. Last night's match at the Cremona stadium had given the Grigiorossi fans a convincing performance against the Ducali, capable of guaranteeing access to the next round of the competition, where the team will face Como led by Cesc Fabregas. A result which, however, did not weigh enough in the overall balance of the coach's start to the season, penalized above all by his performance in the championship: two defeats in the first two days in fact convinced the management to prematurely interrupt his experience on the Lombard bench. The official announcement came through a note released by the club, which communicated the decision with these words: "U. S. Cremonese announces that it has relieved Mr. Marco Giampaolo of the technical management of the first team."
