News: According to what Fabrizio Vitale highlights in the Gazzetta dello Sport, the conclusion of the preliminary phase certifies the technical-administrative feasibility of the intervention and paves the way for the formal declaration of public interest of the project. The mayor of Palermo Roberto Lagalla commented on the outcome of the conference as follows: «The closure of today’s phase establishes the technical-administrative feasibility of the work, functional to the declaration of public interest of the project, which will be formalized through a specific council resolution. As Fabrizio Vitale underlines again in the Gazzetta dello Sport, the project involves the modernization of the stadium through a significant investment, linked to a long-term concession which will allow the Rosanero club to cover the majority of the expenses. The objective of the project is not only to modernize the Viale del Fante facility, but also to strengthen the city’s role in the international football scene. As Fabrizio Vitale highlights in the Gazzetta dello Sport, the new Barbera could in fact contribute to consolidating Palermo’s candidacy among the Italian cities that could host some matches of the 2032 European Championships.
