Euro 2032, clash over funds for plants: Barbagallo attacks…
News: At the center of the discussion are the 40 million euros financed through FSC resources and, above all, the funds allocated to the Renzo Barbera stadium in Palermo in view of the city’s candidacy for Euro 2032. The controversy is raised by Anthony Barbagallo, regional secretary of the Democratic Party, who con s the reduction of the sums available for the other facilities on the island. According to Barbagallo, the initial allocation amounted to 120 million euros, but more than half would have been directed towards the renovation of the Palermo stadium. The position of the Democrats is to prevent the investment in the Barbera from reducing the possibility of intervention on the other sports facilities present in the regional territory. For Amata, even the possibility of Palermo returning to Serie A would make the intervention on the stadium a prestigious opportunity for the entire region.
