Palermo thus returns home with a bitter taste in their mouth and with a ranking that speaks of a missed opportunity. The first leg ends without joy and it is no consolation that the “Martelli” draw is still the seventh consecutive useful result. The problem always remains the same: Palermo creates, controls, but struggles to close out matches. After the initial advantage, however, Palermo lowered the pace, limiting themselves to managing without sinking the shot.
