Giornale di Sicilia: "The "curse" of third place, instead fourth…"
News: As Salvatore Orifici highlights in the Giornale di Sicilia, since the post-season was expanded to eight teams, fourth place has proved surprisingly successful. On that occasion it was Cesena, in fourth place, who won promotion to Serie A. A precedent which, as Salvatore Orifici underlines in the Giornale di Sicilia, opened a trend that was anything but casual. A figure which, as Salvatore Orifici points out in the Giornale di Sicilia, exceeds that of the other positions: four successes for the fifth and just three for the third. Of course, third place would guarantee an important advantage, such as the possibility of playing the second leg of the final at home, in a “Barbera” that promises to be decisive. But even if they remained fourth, underlines Salvatore Orifici in the Giornale di Sicilia, nothing would be compromised: the precedents demonstrate that promotion remains absolutely within reach.
