Avellino's dream of bringing James Rodriguez to Partenio lasted just three days. The Colombian champion chose Atlético Nacional of Medellín, definitively putting an end to a negotiation that had ignited the enthusiasm of the Irpinia square. As reported by Il Mattino di Avellino, sporting director Mario Aiello reconstructed all the steps of the operation, up to the player's decision to return to his homeland.
