Inconvenience due to strong winds in Palermo: an electricity pole falls
News: A strong wave of bad weather hit Sicily today, causing disruption in various areas of the island, in particular in Palermo and the province of Messina. In the Sicilian capital, gusts of wind, accompanied by rain and hail, caused a lighting pole in Via Paulsen to fall and end up on the asphalt. Disruptions also occurred in the province of Messina, where bad weather made circulation difficult along some provincial roads, in particular the SP 44 Campo Italia and the SP 45 Curcuraci–Quattro Masse, due to the presence of large trees and branches on the road. The roadmen of the Metropolitan City intervened to remove and restore safety conditions. The Civil Protection has also issued a yellow alert for meteorological-hydrogeological risk, inviting citizens to be cautious.
