Inzaghi’s Palermo like last year’s Pisa: but it might not be enough…
News: Inzaghi’s Palermo like last year’s Pisa: but it may not be enough for Pippo Inzaghi’s A. Pippo Inzaghi’s Palermo is not enough to run at the same pace as last year’s Pisa, led by the same coach from Piacenza, to be sure of gaining the much-desired promotion to Serie A. In fact, if at the bottom no one seems to be able to run, at the top of the table there are few slowdowns and it is necessary to maintain a very high pace to remain in the running for the top two positions despite Palermo, as highlighted by Il Giornale di Sicilia, having collected 57 points in 29 matchdays. Same points in the same period as Pisa in the 2024/25 season when the team coached by Inzaghi had only an out-of-category Sassuolo ahead of them and in fourth place was a Cremonese team with ‘just’ 45 points scored. History also says that a path like that of Palermo has always guaranteed the jump in category: in 1931/32, in 1955/56 and finally in 2013/14, in fact, the Rosanero team had achieved at least sixteen successes in the same period of time, then moving up in category at the end of the season. Now this average may not be enough with Inzaghi’s team which must on the one hand continue its march and on the other hope in some missteps from others to at least regain second place and guarantee their return to Serie A.
