Jovanotti concert, statement by Mayor Lagalla
© photo by Municipality of Palermo "The two evenings of Jovanotti's concert at the Hippodrome represented a great moment of music, participation and promotion of our city for Palermo. Around 80 thousand people reached the Hippodrome over the two days, arriving not only from Palermo and the province, but from every part of Sicily and from various Italian regions. This is a fact that tells us how much Palermo has a desire for big events and how strong its ability to attract the public is, visitors and new opportunities. It was a great celebration, experienced with enthusiasm and participation, which put Palermo, thanks to the commitment of the administration and the Department of Culture, in the national spotlight and also produced positive effects for our territory, for the accommodation facilities, for the catering, for the commercial activities and for all the related activities linked to the organization of an event of this size. But such an important event does not only take place on the stage team, which I want to recognize and thank publicly. I thank the Prefecture of Palermo, the Police Headquarters, the Municipal Police and all the law enforcement agencies who guaranteed security, control and management of the flows, working with great professionalism before and during the event.
