News: It was a long night in Sala Martorana, where the Palermo City Council continued the examination of the resolution on the agreement for the Nuovo Barbera, between suspensions, meetings of group leaders and technical discussions. Work remained at a standstill for over ten hours, while the majority, opposition and offices worked on a shared amendment to implement the changes agreed with Palermo FC. At the center of the discussion are the most delicate points of the agreement: the Economic Financial Plan (PEF), the concessions on IMU and CUP, the commercial exploitation of the parking areas, the penalty system and the regulation of the next phases of the project. Budget Councilor Brigida Alaimo explained that, as these are substantial changes, it will be necessary to prepare a new updated and sworn PEF, the effectiveness of which must subsequently be verified and approved by the City Council. The discussion then continued with the interventions of the city councilors on a measure considered decisive for the future of Nuovo Barbera and for Palermo's candidacy to host Euro 2032 competitions.
