Padova-Palermo 0-1: stoic victory. Bani sends the pinks into ecstasy
News: Inzaghi's team defeated Padova at the end thanks to Captain Bani's strike, after having fought for over an hour in numerical inferiority due to Rui Modesto's expulsion. Despite the numerical inferiority, Palermo tries to remain compact, but Padova takes courage and comes close to scoring with a conclusion from Ghiglione, providentially blocked by Bani's back. Despite the more prudent set-up, it is always Padova who presses on the accelerator trying to undermine the opponent's rearguard. In the 49th minute it was the former Di Mariano who came close to taking the lead, but a reflex from Joronen denied him the joy of scoring. On the opposite front, Padova responded by throwing all their offensive potential into the fray with the arrivals of Papu Gomez and Caprari.
