News: The first half of the match between Palermo and Melbourne City, valid for the second edition of the Anglo-Palermitan Trophy, ends on a score of 1-0. The match has been decided so far by Jérémy Le Douaron's goal, scoring in the 11th minute after collecting an assist from Gyasi, passing the direct marker and coldly beating the Australian goalkeeper Nieuwenhuizen. The Rosanero managed possession for large stretches of the first half, also creating several opportunities to double the lead. Pierozzi was close to making it 2-0 in the 21st minute, hitting the outside of the net following Bozzolan's cross, while Le Douaron came close to scoring a double a few minutes later with a shot that ended high. Melbourne City became dangerous especially in the 16th minute, when an imprecise exit by Joronen risked costing Palermo dearly, but was saved by a providential intervention by Pierozzi on the goal line.
