Palermo and the many “short-faced” victories: Inzaghi emulates Allegri
News: Palermo has already won ten victories in the championship, and a precise perception has consolidated around this figure: that of a team that often wins narrowly, or, as Massimiliano Allegri would say, “short-faced”. The data on narrow victories: numbers and context Five of Palermo’s ten victories came with just one goal difference, exactly half of the total successes. Even more emblematic is Allegri’s Milan, which has made the “short face” a true trademark: 70% of the Rossoneri’s victories so far have come with just one goal difference. Different numbers, different interpretations, but a clear message: “short-faced” victories do not diminish the value of a team. In Mantua, despite dominating for over ninety minutes, Palermo conceded the equalizer with the only real shot on target: an angled shot from Marras from distance.
