Palermo, at home in Serie B, never so good for over 50 years
News: Palermo, at home in Serie B, never so well for over 50 years. With the victory against Empoli on the 23rd day of the Serie B championship, Palermo achieved six consecutive successes on the “Renzo Barbera” pitch. The series opened on the 11th matchday, November 1st against Pescara, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary celebrations of the Rosanero club. That match ended with a resounding 5-0 in favor of Bani and his teammates, who managed to repeat their top five in the following match against Carrarese. It was Palermo coached by Corrado Viciani, the prophet of the “short game”, who achieved six victories in a row, always leaving a clean sheet. In that case Palermo obtained promotion at the end of the championship, the first in its history in Serie A.
