Palermo looking for redemption but it's uphill for Rui Modesto
News: Palermo looking for redemption but it's uphill for Rui Modesto. His absence from the starting eleven in both play-off semi-finals has raised more than one question, but it's now the past: present and future are represented by a negotiation with Udinese to decide whether his future will be in Sicily or Friuli (or elsewhere, if the Bianconeri receive an upward offer). Rui Modesto was one of the nicest surprises for the rosanero in the second part of the season: a difficult transition was followed by performances characterized by sacrifice, dribbling, tactical intelligence, growth in the defensive phase and flexibility. Failure to promote will not trigger the obligation to buy, but transforms the operation into a loan with rights: if Palermo wants to take back the Angolan they will have to pay the 3 million euros agreed in the winter transfer market into Udinese's coffers or find a lower deal. The player's importance on Inzaghi's board, who has praised him several times even in difficult moments and reiterated how he had already tried to push for his purchase in Pisa, could lead the squad to make an economic effort to get him back; on the other hand, the Friulians have observed the Angolan's progress in Sicily and, especially in the event of a separation with Runjaic (with whom the player has never found much space), they could reflect on his confirmation.
