Palermo, Monza is on the road to Serie A and no longer Frosinone
News: Monza's defeat on the Mantova pitch, which came in the final minutes, gives Palermo – now mathematically fourth – a certainty: on the road to Serie A are the Brianza team and no longer Frosinone. In fact, the Ciociari, by winning on Juve Stabia, moved up to +3 over Monza and are now one step away from direct promotion. Monza can still hope in the last round, but the chances are reduced: a defeat for Frosinone and a simultaneous victory for Bianco's team will be needed, a scenario that would reward the red and whites for direct clashes. Palermo will play the semi-final against the winner between fifth and eighth placed – with Catanzaro among the possible opponents – while Monza, from third, would face the winner between sixth and seventh. A combination that makes the hypothesis of a playoff final between Palermo and Monza more concrete.
