Palermo never stops, 3-1 against Sampdoria and first place
We needed the fifth success in a row, the third in this start to the championship, to send a very clear message to the contenders: Palermo wants to get serious. A clear 3-1 win against Sampdoria in front of over 33,000 Rosanero fans which tells of a match dominated by the home team in terms of scoring chances, but played on an equal footing in terms of intensity. Inzaghi's boys made their lives a little more complicated today too, allowing Samp to reopen the match after having taken a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Strefezza (9′) and Pohjanpalo (33′). Insigne's goal came in the 63rd minute, but apart from a couple of sporadic appearances in Perin's area, the rosanero always gave the feeling of being in full control of the match. Antonio Palumbo closed the game in the 94th minute, opening the party in the Barbera stands.
