Palermo, one more emotion: the first escape can start with
Palermo can savor the lust of a first escape in the standings. By beating Sampdoria in the postponement on Monday evening, Inzaghi's team will be first alone in the standings with two points ahead of their pursuers. It is allowed to make preventive gestures of superstition but the situation is what the most optimistic fans had imagined just a month ago. The results of the third day seem designed by Inzaghi: Mantua and Modena – the two teams that until yesterday were alongside Palermo – did not win and now the road is clear for the rosanero. Modena were definitely not lucky: they lost at home against Avellino despite staggering numbers: 43 shots, 10 on target, 12 corners to 2, 62% of ball possession and 64 balls touched in the opponent's area.
