Palermo sensational: the club interrupts the new Barbera project
News: Palermo FC officially interrupts the process for the redevelopment of the Renzo Barbera stadium, a project also closely linked to the city's candidacy to host Euro 2032. The club justifies the choice with the changes made to the original proposal, which, according to the company, would have "radically distorted" the text shared during the discussions. In the note, Palermo claims that the interventions of the general accountant and the municipal secretary have substantially altered the balance of the Economic and Financial Plan (PEF), making it impossible to continue with the initiative. The club also highlights that it has already expressed its willingness to increase its investment by 30 million euros to compensate for the lower share of public financing, in an attempt to keep the project sustainable. Finally, Palermo leaves only one possibility open to reactivate the project.
