"Palumbo's foul at the end was red"
Gianpaolo Calvarese, former referee, analyzed a much discussed episode in the final of Palermo – Sampdoria: Palumbo's foul on Henderson. Referee Marchetti pulled out the yellow card, but the visiting players were clamoring for a direct expulsion. VAR did not intervene. According to Calvarese, the referee should have drawn the red card. "It is really difficult to understand both Marchetti's lack of red card and the failure of VAR Volpi to intervene, which this year still shows that it is unable to get going.
