News: The 60 million euro allocation announced by the Sicilian Region and confirmed by President Renato Schifani for the renovation of the "Renzo Barbera" has sparked debate on the island. Catania city councilor Orazio Grasso harshly con ed the choice, accusing the Region of pursuing a "Palermo-centric" policy, once again penalizing the Etna capital. The councilor made it clear that he is not against investments in sports facilities in view of Euro 2032, but criticized the absence of Catania in regional planning. “The city needs a new and modern stadium, worthy of its sporting and economic ambitions.
