News: As Raffaele Rosa tells it in la Repubblica, Joel Pohjanpalo's story in Venice was much more than a simple footballing parenthesis: a deep, almost romantic bond that left its mark on the lagoon city. According to Raffaele Rosa of la Repubblica, the Finnish center forward had earned the nickname "Doge" on and off the pitch, thanks to extraordinary numbers – 48 goals in 96 appearances – and a visceral relationship with the orange-green fans. A bond also strengthened by important personal moments, such as the birth of their daughter in Laguna. The renewal until 2027, symbolically signed in the Rialto store among the crowd, seemed to establish a union destined to last. Because, as Raffaele Rosa says in la Repubblica, in football certain stories end, but they are never truly erased.
