News: Serie B playoffs, no penalties: here are the rules for the semi-finals. The Serie B playoff semi-finals will be played with home and away matches, but without the possibility of going to penalties. In fact, the regulation provides very specific criteria to determine the team qualified for the final promotion. At the end of the 180 minutes in total, the goal difference between the first leg and the second leg will count. In the event of a perfect tie in the aggregate score, no extra time will be played nor will there be a penalty shoot-out: the best placing obtained in the regular season will decide the qualification. Ergo Monza and Palermo, who finished third and fourth respectively in the championship, have an advantage over Catanzaro (fifth) and Juve Stabia (seventh).
