Telegraph case, Lagalla: «Damage to the image of Palermo and Sicily»
News: The controversy continues after the Telegraph article which, describing the upcoming wedding of pop star Dua Lipa in Sicily, defined Bagheria as a "former hideout of the Sicilian mafia". After the intervention of the president of the Sicilian Region, Renato Schifani, the harsh stance of the mayor of Palermo, Roberto Lagalla, also arrived. Lagalla judged the correction made by the British newspaper to be insufficient: «The correction made by the Telegraph is a necessary act, but it certainly cannot erase the damage caused to the image of Palermo and Sicily». The mayor then recalled the long path to redemption undertaken by the Sicilian capital: «Palermo has completed a long, difficult and often painful path to redemption. And not like any tourist: he even decided to celebrate one of the most important moments of his life here.
