Transfer market, countdown: when the summer session
The summer transfer market has now reached its final stages. After weeks of negotiations, purchases, sales and last-minute moves, the Italian clubs are preparing to experience the last frenetic hours of the session. Serie A officially opened the transfer market on 29 June 2026, while Serie B and Serie C clubs were able to start operating from 1 July. The deadline is set for 8pm on Monday 1st September: by then the Italian teams will have to define all incoming and outgoing operations, from permanent transfers to loans. For many clubs these will therefore be decisive hours, with several negotiations still open and destined to come to fruition just before the closure.
