News: PALERMO – The Sicilian Regional Administrative Court has reduced from five to one year the Daspo imposed on a Palermo fan for throwing a firecracker during the match against Ascoli on 5 May 2024. The administrative judges confirmed the legitimacy of the provision adopted by the Police Headquarters, deeming the disputed conduct as proven, but deemed the choice to apply the maximum duration established by law to be insufficiently motivated. For the judges, therefore, the throwing of the firecracker was sufficient to justify the ban on access to sports facilities. The duration of the measure has been reduced. However, the assessment of the duration of the measure is different. For this reason the judges annulled the provision in excess of twelve months, reducing the duration of the Daspo from five years to one.
