Country: "Carrarese, drink at Barbera! Palermo in
The Carrarese is defeated by Renzo Barbera, but leaves Palermo with the awareness of having seriously challenged the leader. The 2-1 final rewards the formation of Filippo Inzaghi, able to find the decisive goal with Vavassori after the momentary draw of Rubino, but does not cancel the performance of the Apuans, protagonists of a race played with personality and courage. As La Nazione points out, the Carrarese faced Palermo without reverential fears, succeeding for long stretches to impose its own game. The 59% possession of the ball, the seven corner kicks conquered, the two affected woods and the decisive interventions of Perin tell the difficulties encountered by the rosanero against a well organized formation. Without the injured Belloni and Rubino initially on the bench, the Tuscan team left very strong.
