News: Palermo's work also continues on the exit front. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, defender Dimitrios Nikolaou is increasingly close to leaving the Rosanero club to return to his homeland. As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, the Greek central defender is about to move to Asteras Tripolis, a team from the top Greek league. Nikolaou returns to Palermo after the last season spent on loan at Bari, where he made 26 appearances in the league and in official competitions. The possible sale would allow Palermo to continue the work of thinning out the squad in view of the new season, while the management continues to focus on the reinforcements requested by Filippo Inzaghi.
