Serie B, less waste of time: with the new rules you play
The new rules introduced to combat wasting time already seem to be producing the first results. After the first few days of the championship, in fact, the actual playing time increased in both Serie A and Serie B, with around five more minutes of ball movement per game. In Serie A, on the first day the average effective time was 57 minutes and 53 seconds, compared to 53 minutes and 3 seconds in the debut of the previous season. The percentage of ball movement also increased from 55.2% to 59.7%, while the overall duration of matches increased by just one minute. The data is also significant in Serie B, where the actual time currently stands at 57 minutes and 15 seconds, approximately five minutes more than the average of 52 minutes last championship.
