Sicily: “Forello after the vote on Barbera: «All amendments rejected,…
News: As reported by La Sicilia, the municipal councilor of Oso-Controcorrente Ugo Forello returned to the matter with a long speech published on social media, criticizing the rejection of all the amendments presented by the opposition. According to La Sicilia, Forello wanted to clarify first of all that the proposals put forward did not have the aim of blocking the new stadium project, but of strengthening its public and identity dimension. «The stadium belongs to the city», writes the councilor, recalling how «for Palermo football is not just sport: it is history, belonging, memory, it is one of the strongest feelings of community in our city». In particular, La Sicilia highlights, Forello had asked that the name "Renzo Barbera" could not be replaced by any commercial sponsorship, but only alongside the sponsor's brand. In his speech, reported by La Sicilia, Forello attributes the rejection of the amendments to a political choice of the majority.
