Sicily: "New Barbera, a 90-year yes. The Council passes the…
News: After one of the longest and most complex sessions of the council, the Palermo City Council approved the resolution on the agreement between the Municipality and Palermo FC, allowing the city to complete the necessary process for the candidacy of Nuovo Barbera as the Euro 2032 venue. As La Sicilia reports, the Chamber's yes came at the end of a long political and technical mediation which made it possible to overcome the critical issues that emerged in the previous days. In fact, the amendment which aimed to eliminate the possibility of replacing the name "Renzo Barbera" with that of a possible sponsor was rejected. According to what La Sicilia highlights, the possibility of sponsorship is in fact among the items considered in the economic-financial plan. A technical amendment prepared by the municipal administration was decisive, the result of the agreement reached with Palermo FC and the municipal offices.
