At 41 ‘Floriano gets a free-kick from an interesting position, he tries to kick Brunori who, however, does not hit the goal with the ball that ends up high over the crossbar. Two minutes later the number 7 of the rosanero tries to settle in the opponent’s area after having missed a man, but his shot is deflected for a corner.
At 45 ‘, the action that closes the first half of the game, sees the Sicilians close to the goal with a cross from Crivello from the left that cuts the entire opponent’s penalty area to arrive on the feet of Valente who had entered with the times righteous. The conclusion of the 30th, however, ends at the side of Alia’s door. Immediately afterward, Mr. Nicolini whistles the end of the first half without granting injury time.

The formations return to the grassy surface of the “Barbera” after the break. Before the kick-off, Baldini sent Soleri to take the place of Luperini. Immediately after, the match director kicks off the restart with the kick-off given to Monterosi. Lazio immediately dangerous with a close shot by Cancellieri walled by Pelagotti.
At 48′ it is still Floriano who tries the shot on the far post of Alia’s goal, but the ball ends out. At 72 ′ Menichini responds by sending Milani and Franchini on the field in place of Verde and Caon.
When there is a quarter of an hour to the end of the match, the whole of Baldini’s team protests against the referee for a foul not whistled against Soleri, decreed by the Brescia player as a handball of the same number 27 who remained on the ground after being hit by an opposing footballer. At 81 minutes, Tonetto enters the field and replaces Buglio. The doubling of the rosanero arrives! In the 86th minute,
Felici sets off a lightning-fast counterattack that ends with his perfect lap shot where the Monterosi goalkeeper cannot reach! Immediately after, De Rose leaves the field exhausted, Odjer enters his place. At 90 ‘the fourth official announces with the luminous scoreboard the minutes of recovery which will be five. A minute later Valente recovers the ball in midfield and serves Soleri who cuts in the middle without being noticed; the number 27 controls the ball and jumps the last defender and the opposing goalkeeper, but his joy shatters on the unguarded goal post.
